Veyaweer Eternal Empire

An ancient empire of elite fleets and subject worlds, technologically far ahead of everyone else, and spreading only as fast as it can remake a planet.

The Veyaweer Eternal Empire was old when humanity first looked up. It does not build many ships, because it does not need to: its fleets are elite, its technology far beyond anything the younger powers field, and its subject worlds serve it.

Aether Worlds

The Veyaweer live on Aether Worlds: planets transformed until their atmospheres glow green beneath purple clouds. No such world occurs naturally. The empire begins on one, and every new colony must first be slowly remade. That is the Veyaweer's great limit, and the great opportunity for anyone who fights them: the empire cannot simply rush outwards.

Shields above all

Shields are the Veyaweer fleet's main defence, and they work nothing like the Dominion's cell-based fields. An Aether-phase shield is one continuous, curved field. Between hits it is almost invisible; a strike reveals a smooth violet surface rippling outwards and briefly warping the ship behind it. When it fails, it dissolves in flowing purple streaks.

Veyaweer engines burn with long green trails.

No field repairs

A Veyaweer ship regenerates its shields, and nothing else. Armour and hull can only be restored in the gravity well of a friendly Aether World with an active Aether Forge. A Veyaweer fleet far from home is formidable, but every scratch it takes, it keeps.

The Veyaweer Eternal Empire is in development and will be playable later. There are no in-engine images of it yet: the art on this page is a placeholder. Details may change.
